Late at night melancholy thoughts Come to my fading mind Which causes me to eventually drift off to oblivion Without a whimper but in silence. A silence without thought, Without emotion, A dead and heavy stillness that is the essence of my surroundings, But it is where I find peace. This nothingness eventually will be,
My final significant individual feature.
The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel (the Elder). Anthony W Anthony W Allsop
This is one sad outlook on life you have, David. I hope it's just reverie and not to be taken TOO seriously. |

I am not slipping into senility I don't believe, but if anyone told me so I forgot. What I am doing is describing my physical and mental condition as I drop off most nights. This has nothing to do with emotion or attitude; ultimately it will be a flat line. Or as the Poet said;
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
It is a ZEN thing.
