Andy

I saw in this mornings New York Times that Andy Rooney from 60 Minutes just died. Mr. Rooney, whose homespun commentary — delivered every week from 1978 until 2011 — made him a household name, was 92. Picture taken in 2005.

Andy stayed young in heart (and in mind). From a perspective of seeing him regularly but not really knowing him, it appeared to me that he got satisfaction for a life well lived. I will miss him.

A  homophobe issue appeared in about 1989. He was suspended.  When he was reinstated he appeared to have congratulated himself for saying what he said. My question is did his opinion change over the years before his death?

Listening to Andy's remarks  I have changed my opinion that it was homophobic. He was listing dangerous activities that have consequences such as smoking and drinking and as such the remark appears to be to be less offensive and did not slander homosexuals. I am not saying he was not prejudiced against certain persons and groups,I do not believe he was.   I will not go there.
