Violence against woman has been with the human race from before we evolved our intelligence. Humans are on the cusp of, if not an evolutionary advancement, at least a significant change in our behavior. Biologically there was no advantage to beating our females and many reasons not to. However, progress has been slow to evolve. If one has not recently realized it, observe the explosive growth in the power and wealth of the females and the undisciplined decline of my sex. It may be that when we finally cast off our machoism we will discover our manliness.
