John Doherty Reading "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman

This is a most powerful reading of the poem. John, presents it so straight forwardly and calm. It is a reading one could listen to over and over again and remain thrilled. Whitman never sounded better. About John Doherty. John works for the Boston Gas Company as a construction worker. As we can see, this was filmed at a work site. John was 34 years of age when he recited from "Song of Myself". Walt Whitman was 37 years old when he wrote it. It is a young man's poem. It is a very long poem and like all poems demands to be read aloud. I have glanced through it and was in awe for to me it is like a magnificent symphony waiting to be played. But in this case awaiting to read aloud in full.
Respectfully,
David Evans
